Cars watching Cars (watching cars)
Went and saw Pixar's Cars at the drive-in last night - seemed like the perfect movie to catch there. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews, but in my opinion it is a quality movie. Good characters, amazing scenery, and some funny stuff. Sure, I liked The Incredibles better but they are very different movies. I'll probably get the DVD when it comes out, so I can get a better look at the animation. As it was, it looked amazing at dusk on a screen full of holes and peeling paint. At the end, there is a scene of cars watching Pixar car movies at a drive-in. Way meta.
And for anyone who thought this wasn't a "good" kids movie, we all had the chance to compare and contrast with the remake of "The Shaggy Dog" with Tim Allen. Avoid that at all costs. The only good three seconds is when Tim Allen as a dog leaps off a bridge onto a bus and yells "To infinity, and beyond!".
