Childhood foods, all grown up
It started with Kalamatas.
I'm not sure what made me start trying to like olives as an adult. I was in California at the time - surely that had something to do with it. Probably some restaurant used kalamatas in some dish, and I didn't hate them. So I tried eating them more often. Then really liked them. Then worked my way on to other olives. Now, they are a favorite food, despite the fact that I would not even touch one growing up.
Overall I like a lot more veggies than I used to, but olives are probably the biggest conversion from hate to love.
