If you could open any sort of restaurant, what would it be like?
Not sure if this is what I would go with given the chance, but I've always liked the idea of opening an ice cream place with internet access. Alternately, something combining the social aspects of a good coffee hangout with the chocolately goodness of a chocolate shop.
Soda? Cola? Pop? What do you say? Any other regional words that set you apart?
Question submitted by Gladys.
Soda. And you might drink that with a wedge (aka a sub or hoagie). And in Maine, that would be wicked good.
Pleasantly surprised to find a bubble tea place in Alabama. Got one to
keep me cool as I venture outside. Plus, have to keep researching for my
bubble tea fortune
site.
Here is a (fuzzy cameraphone) shot of my daily commute bike. This is a 1998 Marin Larkspur (hybrid), which I picked up when I moved to California. Since I have resurrected it for commuting here in Maine, I've added fenders (because we do get some weather here compared to Menlo Park), and an orange LL Bean lunchbox to carry basic gear. I'll probably add another lunchbox on the other side.
So if you are local to the Portland Maine area and see me riding down Brighton Ave, don't run me over plskthx.
What did you do this weekend?
Took a trip down to NY to pick up my car, which broke down over the July 4th weekend. No fun, but better (and cheaper) it broke down there than on the road. And we managed to get in some swimming on Saturday, so not all bad. Just a bit too much driving. Also ate the only good salad pizza on earth.
In honor of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I present my
ancient Pirates glass. It's at least 20 years old and was given to me to
replace an even older version of the glass that a friend brought me from
Disneyworld (which broke when it was taken out of the hot dishwasher and
filled with ice)..
